The Institutional Research
Office reports directly to the President of the University. The primary purpose
of the Institutional Research Office is to provide
Skyline University College
stake holders with accurate information in order to facilitate optimal decision-making.
Institutional Research Office also serves as a resource for the compilation of data,
including data from sources outside
Skyline University College
, and possesses the skill to present information in useful formats. The major services
provided by the
IR Office
are as follows:
1. Data Collection: The
Institutional Research Office (IRO) acts as a central repository that collects data
from various departments from time to time (as part of the
Institutional Effectiveness System) relevant to the generation of statistics
about the performance of various academic attributes as well as operations data
of Academic Support Services units.
2. Analysis: IRO will process complex data
into tables, charts, or graphs that gives the data a new meaning. A more fundamental
form of analysis involves statistical treatment, the relating of different types
of data, the specification of implications and comparative analysis.
3. Reports:
The Institutional Research Office (IRO) serves as a resource
for official statistics about
Skyline University College
. IRO regularly publishes documents such as the Fact
Book, which includes information on the Enrollment statistics, Rejection rate, cancellation
rate, budgeting and controlling, etc. The Annual Report is also published by the
IRO and includes reports on the academic and academic support activities, strategic
plans for the future, financial summary, etc. Assessment reports are prepared to
meet the information requirements of the general public and the University community.
The Statistics provided in these documents serve as a valuable tool for measuring
the achievement of benchmarks & targets set for an academic year. This Statistics
also forms the basis of mid-course evaluation and amendment of the strategic plan
if required.
4. Feedback Survey: The
IR Office
conducts various surveys to obtain feedback
from the students as part of the Institutional Effectiveness System.

5. Miscellaneous: The
IR Office
is also responsible for conducting and analyzing various
other surveys throughout the academic year such as the feedback on events conducted
in the University, feedback on various school workshops conducted in the University,
demo session feedbacks for hiring a new faculty, etc. IRO also assists during the
performance evaluation process of the Faculty and the Academic Support Services
Staff of the University. The
IR Office
is responsible for carrying out the correspondence with other
institutions for developing mutual collaboration.
